Work Experience

I’ve gained valuable experience across different sectors including buying, print, agency work, and a couture atelier - each of which has deepened my understanding of the industry's diverse landscape and helped shape my creative and strategic thinking. I am looking forward to bringing the interpersonal, presentation and communication skills that I have developed at university into a buying team.

Monica Vinader

I have been working as an MV Insider at Monica Vinader, a luxury jewellery brand. This involves being an affiliate and promoting gifted products on social media, such as TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram. This has developed my understanding of digital marketing and how to use social media platforms professionally, as well as improving my visual communication skills.

Next

I was a buying intern for the women’s non-clothing, swim and beach team at Next. I observed online and retail selection meetings and was able to provide the team with some insights directly from the demographic they are trying to target which I felt were valued and appreciated. I helped prepare for the meetings by cross checking prices for items, grading garments and organising products. I also categorised lab dips and fabric approvals, organised samples and stock into product stories and researched upcoming trends for the product category.

It was an invaluable experience and it helped to progress what I have been learning about the role of a buyer. It has ultimately led to me wanting to start a career in fashion buying.

Minka Dink London

I worked at the pop-up store for Minka Dink London, an independent women’s fashion brand. This involved organising stock, retrieving stock for customers and general help around the shop. It was great to contribute to the growth of a smaller business and the experience helped me develop my communication and teamwork skills. I also relied heavily on my organisational abilities and effective time management to support the smooth running of the store.

Anna Valentine

I was an intern at Anna Valentine, a couture atelier in London, for a few months. During my time there I created various samples and textile pieces for future products, embroidered jumpers for selling and supported meetings by preparing materials and samples. It was great to feel as though my eye for detail and creativity was appreciated and valued.

Next Model Management

At Next Model Management, I was responsible for filing both physical and digital copies of models’ documents to ensure accurate and consistent record-keeping. I also managed inventory by segregating and labelling products and supported daily operations by distributing incoming mail. This gave me valuable exposure to an admin role within a fast-paced environment, and allowed me to develop strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the importance of efficient operational support.

Stylist Magazine

At Stylist Magazine, I researched content and drafted articles for the website, supported the editorial team by fact-checking and ensuring the accuracy of published pieces, and transcribed interviews for upcoming features. This role required a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as strong written communication and time management skills to meet tight editorial deadlines.
